  1. ABOUT THIS POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how Viswanath Educational Services (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, protects, and deletes information when a person uses:

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Depending on the features used, we may collect or process the following categories of information.

3.1 Account and profile information

  • Name;
  • email address;
  • mobile phone number;
  • username;
  • Firebase Authentication user identifier;
  • Student ID generated by the App, such as a TP-number;
  • course access, subscription, role, and account-status information.

Passwords are processed by the authentication service used by the App. We do not display a user’s password to other users.

3.2 Educational activity and performance

  • enrolled or accessible courses;
  • topic, subtopic, lesson, formula-card and recall-card activity;
  • quiz and practice-question attempts;
  • selected answers, correct, incorrect and unanswered counts;
  • marks, ranks, leaderboard entries and examination participation;
  • performance history and analytics generated for the learner;
  • timestamps and technical records needed to operate scheduled examinations and release results.

Leaderboard displays may show a learner’s username, marks and rank. We do not intend to publicly display a learner’s email address, phone number or authentication identifier on a leaderboard.

3.3 Messages and support content

If a learner uses doubt-support, contact, feedback or similar features, we may collect:

  • the text of the message or doubt;
  • the course or lesson context;
  • replies and status information; and
  • attachments voluntarily submitted with the request.

3.4 Photos, files and documents

Where a feature permits an upload, we process photos, screenshots, PDFs or other files selected by the user for that purpose, such as submitting a doubt or support request. We do not access unrelated files merely because the App is installed.

3.5 Device, security and technical information

We may process:

  • device or app-instance identifiers;
  • push-notification tokens;
  • operating-system and App-version information;
  • login, session, error and security events;
  • records used to detect account sharing, abuse, fraud, unauthorized access or excessive simultaneous use; and
  • diagnostic information required to investigate failures and improve reliability.

The App may apply content-protection measures such as screenshot or screen-recording restrictions and a floating Student ID watermark. These measures are intended to protect educational content and identify misuse.

3.6 Website information

When the Website is visited, the hosting platform and necessary website technologies may process IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, date and time, cookies or similar technical records. Cookies may be used for essential operation, security, preferences and permitted analytics. Users may control non-essential cookies through the available consent tool or browser settings, where applicable.

3.7 Payments

At the date of this policy, a payment feature may be unavailable or under activation. If payments are enabled, the applicable payment platform—such as Google Play Billing or an approved payment processor—may collect payment information directly. We normally receive transaction references, payment status, amount, product or course purchased, and limited payer information needed for reconciliation, support, fraud prevention and legal records. We do not intend to store complete card or UPI credentials in the App database.

  1. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information only for legitimate service and legal purposes, including:

  • creating and authenticating accounts;
  • generating and displaying Student IDs and profiles;
  • delivering courses and free or paid educational content;
  • enforcing course entitlements and access periods;
  • providing topic practice, quizzes, scheduled examinations, results, explanations, ranks and performance analytics;
  • receiving and answering learner doubts and support requests;
  • sending essential service messages and notifications;
  • processing, reconciling and supporting payments when payment features are enabled;
  • protecting content, accounts and systems from unauthorized access, account sharing, fraud and abuse;
  • troubleshooting, maintaining and improving the App and Website;
  • complying with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, legal and regulatory obligations; and
  • establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use learner information for third-party advertising unless this policy and any required consent are updated before such use begins.

  1. SERVICE PROVIDERS AND DISCLOSURES

We use service providers to operate the Services. These may include:

  • Google Firebase services for authentication, databases, file storage, cloud functions, hosting, notifications and related infrastructure;
  • Google Play services for App distribution, integrity, updates and, if enabled, billing;
  • website hosting, domain and security providers;
  • an approved payment processor if an external payment method is lawfully enabled; and
  • professional advisers or governmental authorities when disclosure is legally required.

These providers process information to supply their services under their own terms and privacy obligations. A transfer to an infrastructure or payment provider acting for us is not a sale of personal information.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our agreements, investigate fraud or security incidents, protect users or the public, or respond to a valid legal request.

  1. DATA SHARING

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with unrelated third parties for their independent marketing. Information may be processed by the service providers described above only as needed to operate, secure and support the Services, or as required by law.

  1. SECURITY

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including authenticated access, Firebase security rules, restricted administrator access, encryption in transit, role-based controls, protected cloud functions, content-access checks and App content-protection features.

No electronic system is completely secure. Users must protect their passwords and devices, avoid sharing login credentials, and notify us promptly if unauthorized access is suspected.

  1. DATA RETENTION

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including while an account is active, while course access or an examination record is required, and for applicable legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution and security periods.

When an account-deletion request is verified and approved, we delete or anonymize account-linked information that is not required to be retained. Certain limited records may be retained where necessary for legal compliance, tax and accounting obligations, payment disputes, fraud prevention, security, enforcement of rights or the establishment and defence of legal claims. Retained records are restricted to the relevant purpose and retention period.

Backups and distributed systems may require a reasonable additional period before deleted information is fully removed from all copies.

  1. ACCOUNT AND DATA DELETION

Users may request deletion through the account-deletion option provided within the App. Users may also follow the public instructions at:

Alternatively, a request may be emailed to thephysicsexams@gmail.com with the subject “Delete My The Physics Gateway Account”. The request should be sent from the registered email address and should include the registered email address and Student ID, if available.

We may verify identity before acting on a request to prevent unauthorized deletion. Deleting an account normally removes access to courses, results, saved activity, profile information and other account-linked App data, subject to the limited retention described above. Account deletion does not automatically create a refund right; refund eligibility is governed by the Refund and Cancellation Policy and applicable law.

  1. USER CHOICES AND RIGHTS

Subject to applicable law, a user may request:

  • access to information associated with the account;
  • correction of inaccurate profile information;
  • withdrawal of a consent where processing is based on consent;
  • deletion of the account and associated data; or
  • information about how a privacy request was handled.

Requests may be sent to thephysicsexams@gmail.com. We may ask for reasonable verification and may decline or limit a request where permitted or required by law.

  1. CHILDREN

The Services are primarily intended for higher-education learners and competitive-examination candidates. A person who is not legally capable of accepting these terms must use the Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or lawful guardian. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from a child contrary to applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes that a child’s information has been provided without proper authorization should contact us.

  1. THIRD-PARTY CONTENT AND LINKS

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, videos, documents or platforms. Their privacy practices are controlled by their respective operators. Users should review those policies before providing information to a third party.

  1. INTERNATIONAL OR CROSS-BORDER PROCESSING

Our technology providers may process or store information in India or other locations where they operate. Where applicable, such processing is subject to contractual, legal and security requirements.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy when the Services, technology, law or business practices change. The revised version will display an updated date and will be published at this URL. Where a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it through the App, Website, email or another appropriate method.
